The Hart Family in London

This page lists those members of the Hart family whose origins we are researching. Entries in italics are inferred or uncertain, or have been supplied by other researchers and not personally verified by us. The list does not include children believed to have died in infancy. The earlier generations lived in the East End of London, but later branches of the family lived in the Southwark area. The Harts were a Jewish family who were living in the Aldgate area of the City of London in the early 19th century. We have traced the line back to a Hyam Hart who married Lydia Cohen in 1792. We have been able to trace those of their children named in the will of Hyam Hart, but we do not know if there were any others. This generation lived in Spitalfields and Whitechapel.
