Our relative is descended from a Wells family who lived in Dover in Kent. He is interested in the following generations of people who bore this surname, and would welcome confirmation that they all belong to the same family.

Most of the information collected about the Wells family comes from Dover in Kent. Although the first Robert Wells appears to have been born in Canterbury, he was living in Dover by the time of his marriage in 1851. We believe that his father was the William Wells who was baptised in 1788 at Birchington, near Margate. This Wells family is connected to our Anderson line by marriage (for details see the Anderson surname page) but little is known about the other maternal lines.
