The Larkman Family in Norfolk

This page contains some notes on a family whose origins we are researching. Some families we know more about than others, but we hope that by publishing this summary here we can make contact and exchange data with people who can help to complete the picture.

The Larkman family lived near Reepham in Norfolk, although we are uncertain of their early history. We are interested in the following generations of people who bore this surname:

Thomas Larkman (no details known) and Mary West (1762 to 1851)
John Larkman (1785 - 1867) and Mary Lurcock (c1790 - 1855)
Mary Ann Larkman (1816 - 1851) and Edward Yaxley (1819 - 1878)

John Larkman was baptised in Hackford, near Reepham in Norfolk, and his brother James was baptised in the nearby parish of Great Witchingham. Thomas Larkman and Mary West were married in Whitwell. Although we have found Mary West's baptism in Whitwell, we know nothing more about the origins of the Larkman family. Mary Ann Larkman was born in Kent while her father was a serving soldier, but her younger siblings were all born in Salle, Norfolk.
